While the top five slots remain the same as a week ago, there are major changes in the second five for Class 2A this week including three newcomers as Fowler, Haxtun and Akron all dropped out with losses during the past week.

RANKINGS

#1 Highland (17-0)
#2 Paonia (16-2)
#3 Sedgwick County (17-10
#4 Del Norte (16-1)
#5 Holyoke (14-3)
#6 Crowley County (15-3)
#7 Peyton (14-2)
#8 Alexander Dawson (15-2)
#9 Byers (12-5)
#10 Ignacio (12-4)
TEAMS TO WATCH:  Fowler (15-3), Haxtun (12-5), Akron (14-4), Ellicott (10-6), Evangelical Christian (10-6), Meeker (12-6), Sanford (11-6), Sargent (9-6)
NOTES:  Highland, Paonia, Sedgwick County, Del Norte and Holyoke all went through the week without a loss so the top five remains intact.  Crowley County and Peyton exchange the sixth and seventh spot as Crowley County earned a defensive minded win at Fowler that landed the Chargers the Santa Fe crown while the Panthers were upset by Ellicott.  Fowler, Haxtun and Akron all suffered losses during the past week so they’re removed from the rankings and replaced by Alexander Dawson, Byers and Ignacio.  Ignacio clinched the San Juan crown by beating Telluride and Byers can do the same in the Union Pacific with a win over Burlington this week.  Alexander Dawson remains in the chase for the runner-up spot behind Highland in the Mile High.  Several key games can be found on the schedule this week including Alexander Dawson-Longmont Christian, Vail Christian-Hotchkiss, Byers-Burlington, and almost every game within the Lower Platte as six teams are battling for four available home games in the opening round of districts.
